After the excitement of creating resin keychains, I was eager to take on a new challenge with resin art. This time, I decided to make custom photo frames a project that combines creativity with functionality. Whether you're looking to preserve special memories or create a unique gift, resin photo frames are a perfect way to showcase your favorite photos. In this blog, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of making your own resin photo frames.

Materials You’ll Need:

Epoxy Resin and Hardener:

The main components that will create the glossy, durable surface of the photo frame.

Photo Frame Mold:

Silicone molds in the shape of photo frames, available in various sizes.

Mixing Cups and Sticks:

For accurately measuring and mixing the resin and hardener. color Pigments, Mica Powder, or Glitter: To add color and sparkle to your resin.

Photos:

The pictures you want to encase in the resin.

Protective Gear:

Gloves, apron, and a mask to protect yourself from resin fumes.

Heat Gun or Torch:

To eliminate air bubbles from the resin.

Decorative Elements (Optional):

Items like dried flowers, beads, or charms to embed in the resin.

Here Step by step Process for Resin photo frame

1 . Setting Up My Workspace

I started by preparing a clean and organized workspace. Resin can be a bit messy, so I made sure to cover my table with plastic. Having all the materials ready at hand was crucial to keeping the process smooth.

2 . Mixing the Resin

Following the instructions on the resin kit, I mixed equal parts of resin and hardener in a cup. Stirring slowly for a few minutes ensured that the mixture was well combined. It’s essential to do this step correctly to avoid any issues with curing later on.

3 . Adding Color and Effects

I wanted my frame to have a vibrant look, so I divided the resin into smaller cups and added different pigments and glitter to each. I experimented with colors that would complement the flowers and the photo I was going to use. Mixing the colors into the resin was like creating a mini-palette for my frame.

4 . Pouring the Resin

With my silicone mold ready, I poured a thin layer of resin into the bottom. This first layer would act as the base. Then, I carefully placed the dried Varmala flowers and the wedding photo into the resin. Using a toothpick, I adjusted the flowers and photo to ensure they were positioned just right

5: Eliminating Air Bubbles

Air bubbles can be tricky, but using a heat gun gently over the surface of the resin helped them rise to the top and pop. This step is essential for achieving that smooth, glass-like finish.

6 . Finishing the Frame

After placing the decorative elements and ensuring everything was set, I poured another layer of resin over the top, before this I am adding string lights in frame . filling the mold to the brim. This layer encased everything, creating a beautiful, clear finish that highlighted the colors and details.

7 . Waiting for the Resin to Cure

Patience is key here! I left the mold undisturbed for about 24-48 hours to let the resin cure fully. During this time, the resin hardened, turning into a solid, glossy frame.

8 . Demolding and Final Touches

Once the resin was fully cured, I carefully removed the frame from the mold. The result was stunning! I loved how the colors, the flowers, and the photo all came together. To finish, I sanded down any rough edges and admired my work—a customized resin photo frame that now sits proudly in home.

If you want to add a finishing touch, you can paint the frame’s edges or apply a layer of varnish for extra shine.
