"Creating Simple Boho Art: A Step-by-Step Guide for Wall Hanging" 🖌️

In this blog, I’ll take you through a step-by-step process of creating Boho-inspired art, just as I did, turning a simple idea into a beautiful piece for your wall.

Gather Your Materials 🎨

To begin, here’s what you’ll need to create this Boho art:

Canvas or paper

Acrylic paints (neutral and earthy tones like beige, Portrait pink , brown, black, blue, and pink  )

Paintbrushes (flat and round brushes)

Pencil for light sketching

A palette for mixing colors

Ruler for creating geometric patterns (optional)

Sketching the Layout 🖌️

Start with Light Sketches: 

I began by lightly sketching the design using a pencil. For this Boho piece, I went for a mix of geometric patterns, organic shapes, and flowing lines, and face shapes . You can create arches, half circles, and simple natural elements like leaves or sun rays.

Create a Simple Composition: 

Boho art is all about simplicity and flow. I kept my design minimal, ensuring that the lines and shapes were balanced across the canvas. You can add a combination of curved lines, dots, and repetitive patterns to keep it interesting but not too busy.

Choosing Colors 🎨

Neutral and Earthy Tones: 

For Boho art, I used a palette of neutral and earthy tones. I chose Portrait pink for the background and added  brown for circle shapes, and black  to bring out the details of the design.

Blend and Layer Colors: 

In Boho art, layering and blending colors can add depth and texture. I mixed my colors on the palette to get different shades of the same tone, allowing the art to feel cohesive and warm

 Paint the Background

Apply a Base Color: 

I started by painting the background using a large flat brush. For this piece, I chose a Portrait pink, which is warm color.

Smooth Out the Paint: 

I applied the paint evenly across the canvas, making sure there were no harsh brush strokes. This clean background helps the other elements of the painting stand out.

Paint the Geometric Shapes

Outline the Shapes: 

Using a round brush, I carefully outlined the geometric shapes and lines I sketched earlier. Boho art often includes simple shapes like half-circles, arches, and triangles, so I stuck to that theme.

Add Earthy Accents: 

Once the outlines were done, I filled in the shapes with muted tones like blue and brown. The contrast of these colors against the neutral background really brought the design to life.

Add Natural Elements

Incorporate Organic Shapes: 

To balance the geometric patterns, I painted a few organic elements like leaves . Boho art is inspired by nature, so these details added a touch of warmth and personality.

Minimal Detailing: 

Boho art thrives on minimalism. I kept the detailing light, focusing on simplicity and balance rather than adding too many intricate elements.

Highlight with White: 

To give the painting a finished look, I added small highlights with black paint. These highlights were placed on the edges of the shapes and lines, giving them a soft, glowing effect.

Clean Up Edges: 

Finally, I used a small brush to clean up any edges and make sure all lines and shapes looked crisp and neat.
