"DIY Ocean Resin Necklace: A Creative Guide for Jewelry Lovers" ๐
The ocean has a unique ability to bring a sense of calm and wonder, and capturing that beauty in a piece of jewelry can be truly special. In this blog, Iโll walk you through how I created an ocean-themed resin necklace. This necklace is inspired by the serene blue waves of the sea, with swirling ocean pigments and a glossy finish that reflects the light, just like the surface of the water. Whether you're a nature lover or just enjoy the tranquility of the ocean, this necklace is a beautiful way to carry a piece of it with you wherever you go.

I recently had the pleasure of creating a resin necklace for a special client who loves the ocean and nature. The process of blending pigments, shaping the waves, and bringing the ocean to life in a pendant was such a fulfilling experience. Hereโs how I made this unique piece, step by step.

Prepare Everything You Need
I started by making sure everything I needed was set on the table. I gathered:
Resin and hardener for the base
Ocean-colored pigments like dark blue, sea blue, and white
A jewelry mold for creating the pendant
A heat gun to create wave effects
Fine instruments like tweezers, wire, or a needle to adjust details
Golden or silver chain for the final necklace
Mix the Resin and Pigments
Once I had everything in place, I began mixing the resin and hardener in equal parts, stirring slowly to avoid any bubbles. After mixing the resin, I separated it into smaller portions and added the dark blue, sea blue, and white pigments to each. The dark blue gives the feel of deep ocean water, while the sea blue and white create waves and shallow areas.
Pour Resin into the Mold
Now, I poured the dark blue resin into the base of the pendant mold first, followed by sea blue and finally some white resin on top to give that foamy look. I didnโt mix the colors much because I wanted them to flow naturally.
Use the Heat Gun for Waves
This is where the fun part starts! I used the heat gun to gently move the resin around, creating wave-like effects. I kept the heat at the right level to avoid overheating the resin, which can cause bubbles or spread the colors too much. The heat helps blend the pigments into smooth, flowing waves, which makes the ocean effect really come to life.
Let the Resin Cure
Once I was happy with how the colors flowed, I set the pendant aside to cure. After the first layer dried, I added a second layer of clear resin to give the pendant a glossy, polished finish. This final layer makes the colors stand out and gives the necklace a beautiful shine.
Reposition the Pendant and Attach the Chain
Once the pendant was fully cured and ready, I carefully repositioned it in the necklace chain using tweezers and a needle to make sure it sat perfectly. For the chain, I used gold, but silver works just as well itโs all about matching the look you want.
Admire the Finished Piece
