Here Step by step guide to creating Radha Krishna paintings
Start with detailed sketch of the figures. you want on canvas. I created detailed sketch of the composition. after this I decided the placement of figures. where I want on canvas before this first you have to prepare canvas.
I choose the 14 by 18 inches canvas, first I add gesso on canvas because sometime canvas are roughs on surfaces. Gesso fills in the canvas weave. making it even and ideal for painting. gesso protects the canvas from were tear, ensuring it lasts longer. gesso helps prevent paint from cracking or flaking off over time.
when your canvas ready, you can start creating Radha Krishna painting. I am starting with sketching figures. considering the composition , placement of figures in paintings. after this I am mixing a thin layer of paint and using it on background. I am adding peacock feathers. on background.
peacock feathers carry symbolic meaning in Hindu mythology, representing. beauty and grace, pride and self confidence. after completing background go on skin tones of figures. I am using blue tone for Krishna. In Hindu art and iconography Krishna is often depicted with a blue or blue- black skin tone known as shyama or" Krishna nilamba". this blue hue symbolizes. divinity , spirituality, universe for depth. I am using blue with a slight purple or pink under tone to create a sense of warmth and depth. after this using Radha's skin tone. for this I am using portrait pink or golden base.

Ensure that Radha's skin tone harmonizes with Krishna's blue tone, creating a visually appealing contrast. adjust the skin tone according to the lighting in your painting, with softer tones in the shadows and gentle highlights on the high points.
The jewelry part!
This is where you get to add some extra sparkles and detail to your Radha Krishna painting. use jewelry to symbolize their love and connection. I am using golden color and yellow for jewelry part you can use also metallic paints or leafing for luxurious look. for shading and highlighted part. I am using white color for depth you use black color for details.
Jewelry should enhance the beauty of Radha and Krishna. not overpower them. If jewelry part done then go for background. you can add trees, riverbank to represent the divine couple's connections with nature.

In background I am painting floral patterns, peacock feathers, and leaves. for visual representation for floral patterns. I am using soft curved lines to create intricate flower shapes. for peacock feathers using iridescent blues and greens to capture the feather's shimmering effect. also using leaf shapes and sizes that complement the floral pattern's and feathers. using varying shades of green to create depth and dimension.
For details :-
for details or adding depth using black color. use a small brush to paint fine lines and details. some specific areas where you can use black details. Radha's and Krishna's eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes outlines of the ears, nose and mouth for final touch.
Applying varnish to painting is great way to protect the artwork from dust, UV light and other environmental factors. |
